Some More Clips and Featurette for Pixar's "UP"
>> Mar 29, 2009
Disney-Pixar have released other new clips and featurette for their upcoming animation hits "UP." You can check all of them below (via TrailerAddict and WP). The clips showing Carl meeting Russell for the first time and Russell finding a snipe which later he names Kevin.
“Up” is directed by Pete Docter, one of Pixar's brightest stars. He co-wrote both "Toy Story" films and directed "Monsters, Inc." He with the co-director and screenwriter Bob Peterson (Finding Nemo, Monster Inc.) have had "Up" in the pipeline for nearly six years, a long time even for an animated feature. The idea was germinated by Docter and Peterson, but once they had the central image of a house flying away hanging from a huge bunch of balloons, they had to decide where to go from there.
In the story, Carl Fredricksen (Edward Asner) is 78 years old grumpy old man who walks with a cane. When Carl was a child, he met and eventually married a girl named Ellie who grew up in a small midwestern town. Ellie always dreamed of exploring the mountains and visit Paradise Falls in Venezuela, but she died before she got a chance. Now, when developers threaten to move him into an assisted living home, Carl who’s a former balloon salesman decides to fulfill his promise to Ellie. To accomplish this, he uses a huge number of balloons to make the house fly - but unwittingly takes a chubby eight-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell (Jordan Nagai) who needs one last merit badge - assisting the elderly with him. The two opposites match up for thrilling adventures as they encounter wild terrain, unexpected foes, and all the terrifying creatures that wait in the jungle.
