>> Jul 27, 2009
Four new images for Disney's upcoming adventure film "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" have emerged from Empire Online recently. Those features Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan and Gemma Arterton as Princess Tamina trying to make their escape. The first one sees the two main characters escaping on horseback. The second one captures them drenched from head to toe with water, jumping off from what seems to be a palace. In addition to those two images, photos of director Mike Newell and producer Jerry Bruckheimer on the set are also included. Check all of the new photos after the jump below.
Adapted from Ubisoft Montreal's 2003 video game of the same name, "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time," the story follows Dastan, a street urchin in 6th century Persia who after showing valor in battle, is adopted by the king as his heir. Now as the fate of the world is in jeopardy, he must join forces with Tamina, a feisty and exotic princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.
Directed by "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" helmer Mike Newell, the Walt Disney's feature project stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina. The action adventure movie is set to be released in the U.S. May 28, 2010.
