Casting Report or Rumor from “The A-Team” Reboot

>> Sep 16, 2009

With the principal photography date which just around the corner, more casting report hit the big screen project of the popular '80s NBC series, "The A-Team". As we know, Joe Carnahan has been appointed to direct the film as well as to polish the Skip Woods' script along with writer Brian Bloom. Shooting is set to begin in Vancouver, Canada on Monday, September 14 for a June 11, 2010 U.S. release.

Moviehole site had some news about David Richmond-Peck who has been offered the role of Gammons and the former UFC world lightweight champion Quinton Jackson, aka Rampage Jackson who will take on the role once made famous by Mr. T, B.A. Baracus. Peck who has worked with director Joe Carnahan for direct-to-DVD sequel of "Smokin' Aces", reportedly was on top of Carnahan's list for the movie's baddie because Carnahan was "so impressed" by his multi-faceted performance in "Smokin' Aces : Blowback". Before being offered Gammons role, the actor who plays Georgie in ABC's "V" had earlier tested for the role of the lead villain, Lynch. They are joining Liam Neeson who will play Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith, and Bradley Cooper who is set for Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck.

THR also has confirmed that District 9's Sharlto Copley is indeed "in negotiations" to join the cast as "Howling Mad" Murdock. In the original 80's A-Team TV shows, Murdock was "the wild card of the group," the Army's best chopper pilot who also suffers from, in an over-the-top manner, delusions, memory loss, and hallucinations. Also joining the A-Team cast is Jessica Biel in the lead female role as Faceman's former lover, "an Army general who is now pursuing the team."
