Suspenseful First Official Trailer for “Edge of Darkness”

The first official trailer for Martin Campbell's upcoming thriller called “Edge of Darkness” has debuted by Warner Brothers recently. The film which starring Mel Gibson and Ray Winstone is about a homicide detective who starts to investigate his own daughter's death and uncovers a secret life as well as corporate cover-up and government collusion. Directed by Campbell of everything very well known action flicks such as “Golden Eye”, “Mask of Zorro”, “Vertical Limit”, “Casino Royale”, as well as the upcoming “Green Lantern” adaptation, and the script which co-written by Oscar winner William Monahan (Kingdom of Heaven, The Departed, Body of Lies) and playwright Andrew Bovell (The Book of Revelation, Blessed), we shouldn’t be surprise with twists, action and setting that they’ve composed for this film. Adapted from 1985 BBC television series with the same name and also directed by Campbell, the story revolves around a homicide detective for the Boston Police Department, Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson) who investigates the death of his activist daughter (Bojana Novakovic). He soon uncovers not only her secret life, but a corporate cover-up and government collusion that attracts an agent tasked with cleaning up the evidence. Ray Winstone played Matt Jedburgh, a CIA officer sent to cover up the murder.
Gibson is a fan of the television series, and “Edge of Darkness” marks his first starring role since 2002's “We Were Soldiers” and “Signs.” Warner Brothers is bringing the thriller film to theaters on January 29th, 2010 next year.
