Quentin Tarantino Promises us “Kill Bill Vol. 3”
>> Oct 1, 2009
Tarantino most recently appeared on an Italian TV show and made a promise for “Kill Bill Vol. 3”. "The Bride will fight again," he revealed. When first asked if he'd do the sequel, his answer was an ecstatic "Yes!"
As you can also watch in the interview clip embedded below, the Italian host asks Tarantino about a couple of sequel possibilities. He says ‘maybe’ to a Basterds prequel, “uh, no…it’ll never happen” to a Pulp Fiction sequel (sorry, Vega Brothers fans) and then, and this is the important part, says “but you didn’t ask the third thing. Would I ever do a third…a Kill Bill, Volume 3?” The woman looks taken aback, then asks the question. Will you do Kill Bill 3? “Yes!” And the crowd goes wild.
Tarantino continued: "'Kill Bill 3' will probably come out... I have to wait a couple of years, because I want ten years to pass from the second one to the third one."
Since "Kill Bill 2" was released in 2004, that means we might see the third installment in 2014. But why wait so long?
"Two reasons," he started. "One, I think me and Uma [Thurman] needed a ten year break. And the second one, I love the character and I think she deserves ten years of peace. She deserves ten years of no fighting, she deserves ten years with her child Beebe. I put her through a lot in those first two movies and I just want her to have a nice peaceful life for ten years."
