Penelope Cruz is Ready to Showing Some Love for Jack Sparrow

>> Mar 20, 2010

Met with MTV at 2010 ShoWest in Las Vegas, Nevada, executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer has shared details for the character that will be tackled by the 35-year-old beauty Penelope Cruz in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". Bruckheimer revealed that Cruz plays the daughter of Blackbeard. "She's the daughter of the bad guy". While some previous reports indicated that the character will be Captain Jack Sparrow's foil and equal in many ways, the producer added, "She brings a lot of humor to it. And the fact that she's so feisty."

It seems that thing will be a little bit complicated for Cruz's character since she will have a flirt with her father's enemy, who is no other than Johnny Depp's Sparrow, as Bruckheimer has stated there will be "a little romance between Captain Jack and the character that Penelope plays."

During the interview, Bruckheimer has also confirmed that Geoffrey Rush, who has expressed his interest to reprise his role of Barbossa, will indeed return to the fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" film. The filmmaker additionally promised a fresh thing for the movie, telling MTV "We're going to take a whole new direction."

Meanwhile, Johnny Depp who is apparently earning £21 million to appear in the fourth instalment of the franchise said he doesn't want to stop making 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies. The actor is amazed he is able to work on something he loves so much and would be happy to reprise the role forever. He said: "I can't wait to get back in costume. Some people will say, 'Aha, Depp sold out by doing the sequels.' But it was never an issue for me. I love Captain Jack so much I'd do 'Pirates 7' if they asked me."
