Tourist-y First Look at Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp

Finished filming in Venice, the first production photo from Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie starred thriller "The Tourist" has been shared via web showing the pair united in picturesque Venice. After a protracted casting process that at one point had Charlize Theron and Tom Cruise set to star, the flick directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, whose feature debut was "The Lives of Others", one of the best movies of the past ten years, is now on track for a February 2011 release and it's certainly heavy on star power.

The film is a remake of a French movie called "Anthony Zimmer" which starred Sophie Marceau and Yvan Attal.
The story itself revolves around Frank (Depp), an American tourist visiting Italy to mend a broken heart. Elise (Jolie) is an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path in order to mislead all those following her former lover. Against the breathtaking backdrop of Venice, Frank pursues a potential romance but soon finds himself the pursued as he and Elise are caught in a whirlwind of intrigue and danger. The movie follows a series of manipulations, as characters realise that they are merely pieces being played by an unseen mastermind of the game. Paul Bettany, Timothy Dalton, Steven Berkoff and Raoul Bova also stars.
