The Loveable Poster for "Never Let Me Go"

>> Jul 28, 2010

You've watched the first trailer for this upcoming indie drama "Never Let Me Go", now Fox Searchlight have also released the first teaser poster for the film. If this is any indication of the movie itself, I think we’re in for a real treat. Directed by Mark Romanek, the script is by Alex Garland (The Beach, 28 Days Later, Sunshine) and is based upon Kazuo Ishiguro‘s novel. "Never Let Me Go" will be one of big deal premieres at the 35th annual Toronto International Film Festival which running from the 9th to the 19th of September. Click on the poster above to view the hi-res version. In addition, after the break I also have the newest international poster for the awaited fourth "Resident Evil" film, "Afterlife".

“In his highly acclaimed novel Never Let Me Go, Kazuo Ishiguro (The Remains of the Day) created a remarkable story of love, loss and hidden truths. In it he posed the fundamental question: What makes us human? Now director Mark Romanek (ONE HOUR PHOTO), writer Alex Garland and DNA Films bring Ishiguro’s hauntingly poignant and emotional story to the screen. Kathy (Oscar® nominee Carey Mulligan, AN EDUCATION), Tommy (Andrew Garfield, BOY A, RED RIDING) and Ruth (Oscar® nominee Keira Knightley, PRIDE & PREJUDICE, ATONEMENT) live in a world and a time that feel familiar to us, but are not quite like anything we know. They spend their childhood at Hailsham, a seemingly idyllic English boarding school. When they leave the shelter of the school and the terrible truth of their fate is revealed to them, they must also confront the deep feelings of love, jealousy and betrayal that threaten to pull them apart.”

Sony Screen Gems released their German one sheet for "Resident Evil: Afterlife" 3D that teases the 3-dimensional aspects of the Paul W.S. Anderson directed sequel. In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice (Milla Jovovich), continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.

Oh, when I just recall how I had to read Kazuo Ishiguro's novels at college for my Contemporary Literature class :(((( Mark Romanek is an interesting director since he comes from the world of music videos.
