Surviving Theme is Getting Epic in "The Way Back"
>> Oct 9, 2010
Now this is what I called a wonderful yet intriguing epically scheme of trailer. From director Peter Weir of such impressive films as "Gallipoli", "The Year of Living Dangerously", "Witness", "Dead Poets Society", "Fearless", and "The Truman Show", came a new film that sneaking into theaters for an Oscar-qualifying run, "The Way Back". Boasts an all-star cast, including Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris, Colin Farrell, Mark Strong, and Saoirse Ronan, this one based on Slavomir Rawicz's novel "The Long Walk" in which a group of soldiers try and make their way home after escaping from a Siberian gulag. It's absolutely very far away from a pleasure trip, filled with some of the harshest terrain on Earth, from frozen tundra to the Himalayan mountains, which will make a very interesting show on the big screen. The preview also has "epic" written all over it: epic journey, epic music, epic cinematography and absolutely looks heart-pumping and gut-wrenching, which is enough to get me to the theater. The epic is already served just for you after the break.
THE WAY BACK, which recently had its World Premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, is inspired by Slavomir Rawicz’s acclaimed novel The Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom, as well as by other real life accounts. The film chronicles the escape of a small group of multi-national prisoners from a Siberian gulag in 1940 and their epic life affirming journey over thousands of miles across five hostile countries.

2 Remarks:
oh, I totally forgot about this one. I like this kind of movies. I'm not sure we could expect touching acting from this cast, but I would surely expect some amazing views, stunning music as you said, epic cinematography ... Hope they won't get too political in the story itself.
Hmm.. I don't expect anything political too just an amazing thrilling ride through and through :)
