Check Out the First Look of Chris Hemsworth as Thor

The first feature film based on Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s "Thor" won’t be hitting theaters for another year, and security during filming has been very tight. However, the first official look at Chris Hemsworth as the thunder god himself in this Marvel's hero flick has hit the web. It's a dramatic, profile shot one with no winged helmet, but it’s still a lot cooler than we could have imagined, and remaining true to Jack Kirby’s iconic visuals. "Thor" is shot in New Mexico and centers its story on Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior who is cast down to Earth due to his reckless actions. But he later learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of Asgard tries to invade Earth.

Chris Hemsworth takes the lead role with Anthony Hopkins playing his father Odin. They are joined by Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston who portray Thor's love interest and Loki respectively. Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the action adventure movie is set for May 6, 2011 U.S. release.
