“The Adjustment Bureau” Shares a Couple of Attractive Posters

>> Dec 1, 2010

Matt Damon and Emily Blunt starred action thriller “The Adjustment Bureau”, which based on a story by Philip K. Dick, is a film I’ve been looking forward to for a while. It was supposed to release back in September this year but it got pushed until March 2011. The trailer released several months back is truly exciting and it looks like Damon undoubtedly knows how to deliver in the departments of action and thrills. Like the Bourne films, I believe this film should offer up a good entertaining ride. Now another build up comes in the form of a Hitchcockian style posters that actually so gorgeous to look at. Check the second UK quad poster after the break.

Synopsis: Do we control our destiny, or do unseen forces manipulate us? Matt Damon stars in the thriller The Adjustment Bureau as a man who glimpses the future Fate has planned for him and realizes he wants something else. To get it, he must pursue the only woman he’s ever loved across, under and through the streets of modern-day New York. On the brink of winning a seat in the U.S. Senate, ambitious politician David Norris (Damon) meets beautiful contemporary ballet dancer Elise Sellas (Emily Blunt)—a woman like none he’s ever known. But just as he realizes he’s falling for her, mysterious men conspire to keep the two apart. David learns he is up against the agents of Fate itself—the men of The Adjustment Bureau—who will do everything in their considerable power to prevent David and Elise from being together. In the face of overwhelming odds, he must either let her go and accept a predetermined path…or risk everything to defy Fate and be with her. Directed by George Nolfi (known previously for his writing credits on films like “The Bourne Ultimatum”), “The Adjustment Bureau” scheduled to hit theaters on March 4th, 2011.

Impressive Trailers for “Hunting Season”, “Beyond Black Mesa” and “Eternity”

Due to hit Turkish screens in December is one of the most eagerly anticipated Turkish movies, a dark crime thriller titled “Av Mevsimi” (Hunting Season). The film starred Turkey’s most popular comedian, also a writer, actor and director Cem Yilmaz in a role of a cop whose live become upside-down during a murder investigation. Written and directed by Yavuz Turgul (For Love and Honor), the film also stars Şener Şen as fellow policeman, Çetin Tekindor, Melisa Sözen, and Okan Yalabık. Watch the trailer (via TwitchFilm) after the break along with two other impressive trailers from imaginative short sci-fi “Beyond Black Mesa” and South African vampire movie “Eternity”.

Inspired by “Half Life” video game series, “Beyond Black Mesa” is a powerful looking short film centered around Adrian Shephard and of a band of resistance fighters who are struggling to survive in the post-apocalyptic world. Here’s the trailer and synopsis for the film (via PulpMovies): When an army of Combine soldiers implement an elaborate plan of attack to rid the rest of those who remain, the resistance must warn the other survivors of the mass invasion, or face the reality of the extinction of the human race.

Last but not least is the trailer for South African director Christopher-Lee dos Santos’ feature film debut “Eternity”. Shot on Canon 7D DSLR's over 19 nights in Johannesburg, the film has been picked up for distribution and is scheduled to open on December 24th.
Here’s the synopsis: Billy is a vampire who falls in love with a human girl named Jenny. Jenny’s father happens to be a scientist working on a cure for HIV/AIDS who, accidentally, creates a serum that allows vampires to daywalk. The discovery sets off a war between the vampire clans with the traditionalists, led by Constantine, who believe the serum is a defamation of the blood and Borlak, a young vampire who wants to move the race out of darkness. It’s here that the film’s synopsis, available in much more detail at the official website, loses me because we then have Billy going up against the nasty sounding Borlak with no indication on how he fits into the equation beyond crushing on the human girl. I’m assuming we learn more of Billy’s connection with the traditionalists in the movie itself.
